Subject: AUTOFOCUS 1.1 Hypertext and large archive management
Hi!
AUTOFOCUS is a HyperCard stack which discusses elementary photography. The stack isn’t a demo in the usual sense, however, the programming behind the stack is what may be of interest to the Mac community. The stack illustrates a few features of a fairly extensive hypertext program. The program, DOCK, consists of a shared stack system which controls editable hypertext archives, and includes a variety of tools for electronic publishing. DOCK also uses shared stacks to provide utility menus, multi–stack browsers, automatic links, and other interface and text management devices. DOCK also supports simple hypertext in any HyperCard stack.
In the AUTOFOCUS stack, hypertext is used to manage internal card selection. The illustration shows little more than the tip of the iceberg. Indeed, it doesn’t demonstrate archival features, which require a critical mass of stacks.
The AUTOFOCUS stack doesn’t discuss hypertext, it gives you an example of what can be done with hypertext. If you like what you see, you may wish to examine the DOCK shareware package. The package includes extensive documentation, in hypertext form (of course). Current version is bilingual English/French. More languages can be added. Compatible with localized versions of HyperCard. HyperCard 2.1 or later.
